The main ingredient in the original pharmaton adult supplement known as Pharmaton Vitality Capsule is Panax Ginseng Extract. Pharmaton also contains vitamin D, calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, vitamins A and E, and the B vitamins riboflavin, folic acid, thiamine, vitamin B-6 and vitamin B-12. Other formulations have additional nutrients. For example, Pharmaton CardioActive has omega-3 fatty acids, while the children's supplement has the amino acid lysine.

The UK's National Health Service reports that using Pharmaton may cause side effects such as trouble sleeping, rash, headache, feeling dizzy, or digestive issues like diarrhea, vomiting. , nausea and abdominal pain.
