Description
Functions and Traits of Levitra
As a ped5 inhibitor, Vardenafil works by relaxing the muscles and forcing more blood into the penis in order to achieve or maintain an erection. ED can be defined as the inability to get or maintain an erection or, in some cases, the inability to get or maintain a full, ridge erection.
The ED drug Levitra, like all similar PED5s, works by binding nitric oxide to the guanylate cyclase receptors thereby increasing cGMP levels. This creates gentle relaxation of the muscle and creates a pathway to increase blood flow.
While Levitra is very similar to Viagra and Cialis, it is more closely related to Viagra with the only difference being the position of a nitrogen atom and the addition of an ethyl group rather than the methyl group. The slight alteration gives Levitra a slightly longer active life than Viagra, but still much shorter than Cialis.
Effects of Levitra
The effects of Levitra are very simple, to cure erectile dysfunction in men who have problem with blood flow. Levitra will not cure a libido problem. If libido is the problem the individual may need to have his hormone levels checked. If the problem is blood flow and not related to the hormone, sexual stimulation is still necessary for the drug to work, but assuming the stimulation is provided the blood flow problem should be resolved in most cases. . Some data has also suggested that Vardenafil may also help prevent premature ejaculation. Some data has also suggested that the stiffness of the penis is greater with Levitra than Viagra; however, the data shows this tends to be more individualistic than anything else.
Side effects of Levitra
The side effects of Levitra are both dose and genetic dependent. Some men may experience side effects and others will not. The presence of side effects is very difficult to predict. If the side effects of Levitra occur, particularly severe, the person may find more success with another PED5 inhibitor. Changing the medication will often correct the issue, but in other cases, using a PED5 may not be right for the person. Side effects of Levitra can include:
Vision disturbances
Nausea
vomiting
Hypotension (low blood pressure)
Back pain
Tachycardia (elevated resting heart rate)
Joint pain
Sore muscles
Stomach cramps
Rash or itching
Sudden hearing loss
Most of the above side effects of Levitra while possible will not affect most ED drug users. In rare cases, the individual may experience erections after sexual activity which do not go away and may need to see a doctor.
Levitra Administration
Levitra is found as a round orange tablet with the word Bayer appearing twice on one side, once vertically and once horizontally and the dosage strength listed on the other side. The ED drug is available in 2.5mg, 5mg, 10mg and 20mg forms. The drug can be taken with or without food and should be taken 1-2 hours before sexual activity.
