Insulatard Penfill 100IU / ML is a box of 5 injectable cartridges of 3ml, possibility of using a rechargeable injector pen or with an insulin syringe as for the use of peptides or growth hormone.
- 1 cartridge contains 3ml, equivalent to 300 international units.
- 1ml of suspension contains 100 international units of human isophane insulin (NPH) (equivalent to 3,5 mg).
- Human insulin is produced in Saccharomyces cerevisiae by recombinant DNA technology.
Excipient with known effect :
- Insulatard Penfill contains less than 1mmol sodium (23mg) per dose; Insulatard Penfill is essentially "sodium free".
- Insulatard Penfill can be used between 4 to 6 weeks.
- Insulatard Penfill starts to work 1 hour and a half after injection, its maximum effect appears in 4 to 12 hours and the duration of action is approximately 24 hours.
Insulatard Penfill can be used alone ou mixed with fast acting insulin. In case of intensive insulin therapy, the suspension can be used as basal insulin (evening and / or morning injection) with the administration of fast-acting insulin with meals. Individual insulin requirements are generally between 0,3 and 1,0 IU / kg / day.
Make sure your insulin dose is limited to between 15-45 IU. But that will greatly depend on your daily carbohydrate intake. During a diet or during a cutting period, the dosage should be reduced further.
A dose adjustment may be necessary if the patient increases physical activity, changes their usual diet, or in the event of concomitant illness.
Most bodybuilders use three insulin injections every days:
- The the first dose just happens after waking up.
- The second dose occurs around time noon.
- The troisième and the final consumption that has to be done right after you have completed your workout for the day.
